Covered Cloth from VBC

"ORDER JOURNEY" is a series that introduces memorable stories we encounter while guiding customers around the country on a daily basis. This time, we will be introducing COVERT CLOTH, a fabric that receives many orders throughout the year, so much so that it is no exaggeration to say that IGARASHI TROUSERS is synonymous with "2-in-pleats" fabric.
COVERT CLOTH is said to have originated from the fabric used for fox hunting jackets (covert coats). A robust and durable material was required to withstand hunting in the mountains.
For this reason, the warp thread is a two-ply heathered yarn made by twisting together two different colored threads, and the weft thread is a single colored woolen yarn. This creates a deep color that blends in with the natural scenery. It may be an unfamiliar background in modern urban life, but it is a concentrated expression of the wisdom and ingenuity of our ancestors.
In fact, this fabric is extremely popular within IGARASHI TROUSERS, and due to its versatility, every staff member owns at least one piece of it. This is because it is woven at a high density and boasts outstanding durability, as well as excellent wrinkle resistance and recovery.
Just hang it on a hanger overnight at your hotel on a business trip, and by the next morning, most of the wrinkles will be gone. Its high recovery ability is particularly noteworthy. Depending on the sizing, it can be worn under a suit or with casual styling, making it versatile enough to be worn all year round.
COVERT CLOTH is made by VITALE BARBERIS CANONICO, one of the world's oldest luxury fabric manufacturers, founded in 1663 and representing the Biella region of Italy.
This fabric is carefully woven in the most exquisite environment, and is imbued with the techniques and aesthetic sense that have been cultivated over a long history. Come experience this timeless masterpiece at IGARASHI TROUSERS.
